It's possible to hike to the peak of Mt Thielsen. Exit Crater Lake National Park at the north entrance, turn left on the Rogue Umpqua Scenic Byway, heading roughly west. You'll see the trailhead on your right almost immediately, near Diamond Lake. You might want to check for summer storms, Mt Thielsen acts as a lightning rod.
