Sightseeing on the western rim at Crater Lake and autumn awaits at the turn of the wheel and light changes, signpost of the changing seasons.

This photograph was taken on the western rim, on one of the smaller pullouts, with a trail that begins with a sharp ascent off to the left. I climbed the trail, walked along the lake and took several photographs with this same quality of light and peace. It was August and the seasons were changing. Summer is a brief dance when lake and mountain make their own weather. This but part of the mystery of Crater Lake.
