Whitehorse WaterfallsCamping and PicnickingStopping off the Rogue Umpqua Scenic Byway to see Whitehorse Waterfalls and perhaps picnic or camp. Whitehorse Waterfalls, otherwise known as Clearwater Falls because the waterfall is the Clearwater River falling, is sheltered under the canopy of old growth Douglas Fir. It can be viewed from a small platform in the parking area, however, it's just a few steps down a small incline to view the waterfall tumbling into a tranquil pool. Whitehorse is located at the 65.9 milepost marker, on the Rogue Umqpua Scenic Byway, Hwy 138. It's clearly marked. Turn north at the sign. Besides the waterfall, the wayside also boasts an unimproved campground as well as a small picnic area. Whitehorse is not far from the hiking trails to other and quite magnificent waterfalls: Toketee Falls, 5 milies west, and Watson Waterfalls, 2.5 miles west. At Toketee find Toketee Lake and Umpqua Hot Springs. Hike along the North Umpqua River Trail. The Campground at Whitehorse WaterfallsThe campground is unimproved, meaning there is no drinking water. It has 5 campsites, picnic tables, fire rings and vault toilets. The maximum trailer length is 25'.
