Access the wild and scenic upper Rogue River
off Crater Lake Highway, Oregon Hwy 62, at Union Creek, Oregon

To walk along the Rogue Gorge Interpretative trail, turn off the Crater Lake HWy, Oregon Hwy 62, when you see the sign at Union Creek. If you're traveling south on the Crater Lake Hwy, you'll see this view before you see the sign. If you're traveling north, the turnoff to the parking lot is about 10 miles north of Prospect, Oregon. To walk along these lava flows, you must leave the trail proper and walk north beyond the actual gorge. This is not a smooth trail, but terrain shaped by lava flows (see below to the left). Proceed with caution.
