The Pinnacles on the Eastern Rim at Crater Lake
Travel Oregon and ... see Crater Lake National ParkThe pinnacles photographed on these pages can be found on the eastern rim of Crater Lake. Pinnacles on the southern rim, viewed after entering the park, but before turning and heading up to the rim form part of the boundary of the gorge for Annie Creek and the waterfalls below. Annie Creek is named after Annie Gaines the first white woman to hike to the rim and then down to the water. Of course, native women had been doing it for centuries, if not millennia. Not to discredit Annie Gaines; it's just ironic, the creek was named after her, but what about all those who had gone before? - I just had to say that. :-) - gm
