Sweet Creek Waterfalls:

Tributary to the Smith River in the coast range 15 miles
east of the coast at Florence, Oregon.

waterfalls on sweet creek, hiking near florence on the oregon coast in the siuslaw national forest.

Sweet Creek offers several waterfalls on a very easy trail that is also quite easy to find.

If you want to enjoy this small wonder, travel to Mapleton, Oregon on Hwy 126. Mapleton is 15 miles east of Florence on the
Oregon Coast. If you're heading west on Hwy 126 and reach Mapleton, you've gone too far. :-)

Heading west? This is what you need to do. Turn left on Sweet Creek Road, which is on the eastern side of the bridge that is just
before Mapleton. I mean just before. :-) There is more than one parking area from which you can access Sweet Creek. Take your pick and begin walking. I guarantee a lovely walk. There are several falls, smaller falls like the one pictured here and a double tiered waterfall as well. When you've enjoyed to your heart's content, head west to the wonder of the Oregon Coast. You can have it all! :-)

Protect our National Forests and Wilderness Areas. Leave NO Trace! Be sure to check with the
ranger station about conditions in the forests and roads before venturing
out. In summer check about fire conditions.
