Bachelor Butte in the Cascade MountainsPilot Butte State Park is located on Hwy 20 in Bend. To reach it from Hwy 97 when you're on the outskirts of Bend: Take the Knot Hwy exit, follow it until you see the sign for Hwy 20, or Burns, Oregon. Turn north when you do. Follow it for a short distance, and you'll see the sign for Pilot Butte on the right. The parking lot for the hiking trail comes first; the turn off for the automobile drive to the top of the butte comes next. Turn right and take the ascent to the top. From there take in all the views for 360 degrees. Bachelor Butte can be accessed from FS 46, the Cascade Lakes National Scenic Byway. Protect our National Forests! Leave No Trace! | |
