Winter Morning Light on the Coast.

Morning light on the oregon coast.

The Pacific Ocean just north of Cape Kiwanda on the Oregon Coast.

To help you get your bearings, Cape Kiwanda is located at Pacific City, north of Lincoln City and south of Cannon
Beach. Pacific City is interesting, or at least it was, unless that has changed, for it was the only place on the Oregon Coast
where fishermen launched their boats from the beach. Wonderful to watch them walk into the ocean, pushing
their dories along side, see them get in and head out to sea. :-)

Photographs of the northern coast in this site are much sparser than those of the south. Not because it's been traveled less,
for I was born in the Willamette Valley and lived most of my life in the Portland Metropolitan area. For years I traveled to the beach every weekend, hiking the trails at Cape Lookout out onto the cape and down to the beach. You'll see no photographs of the beach at Cape Lookout, the spouting horn at Depoe Bay, waves crashing at Boiler Bay, the simple yet extravagant beauty of Indian Beach at Cannon Beach, the wonder of feeding a seal off the dock at old town in Newport, nor other places here. Not because they are not loved, but because they were so familiar photographs seemed unnecessary. That is, until the last few years. Now I take photographs wherever I go. When I return to the
northern coast I will take more, and share them with all of you.

Things change too. I cannot rely on those memories to share with you either.
