The forest on the hiking trail to Deadline Falls, part of the Tioga portion of the North Umpqua River hiking trail, is depicted in the photograph to the right. The hiking trail is accessed at Swiftwater. Just cross the bridge, park and walk upstream on the path. I always liked this photo; it makes me think of Rip van Winkle.

Necessary Information: Glide Oregon is 16 miles east of Roseburg, Oregon on Hwy 138.

Susan Creek Campground & Day Use Area:

Susan Creek recreational area is under the auspices of the Roseburg BLM>. It is a very nice area, not far out of Idleyld on Hwy 138. The campground is on the Umpqua River. Find a Day Use area as well, and the hiking trail to Susan Creek Waterfalls.

Bogus Creek Campground

Drive 18.6 miles east of the North Umpqua Ranger Station in Glide, Oregon. Find it on the left side of the Rogue Umpqua Scenic Byway, Hwy 138. To find out more: USFS Umpqua National Forest: Bogus Creek Campground.

Williams Creek Campground

Drive 21 miles east of the North Umpqua Ranger Station in Glide, turn left onto FS 4710-038 and turn left. One campsite is located on east of the footbridge and the other two are to the west of the bridge. To find out more USFS Umpqua Natonal Forest: Williams Creek Campground.

Canton Creek Campground

Drive 23 miles east from the North Umpqua Ranger Station on the Rogue Umpqua Scenic Byway, Hwy 138, turn left onto Steamboat Road, or Road 38. You'll see the sign for the campground almost immediately, there on the left. Turn left, and drive until you arrive. I can't give better directions right now because the Umpqua National Forest is working on the page for this campground. I have seen this campground innumerable times, however. So I can tell you this much.

Steamboat Falls Campground

Drive 23 miles east from the North Umpqua Ranger Station in Glide, Oregon on the Rogue Umpqua Scenic Byway, Hwy 138. Turn left on Steamboat Creek Road, Road 38. Continue on 38 to Road 3810 and turn right. Cross the bridge, stay to the left and continue on 3810 for 1 mile to Steamboat Falls Campground. Island Campground

Drive 24 miles east from the North Umpqua Ranger Station in Glide, Oregon, on the Rogue Umpqua Scenic Byway, Hwy 138. Find the campground on the left. To find out more: USFS Umpqua National Forest: Island Campround.

Apple Creek Campground

Drive 28 miles east from the North Umpqua Ranger Station in Glide, on the the Rogue Umpqua Scenic Byway, Hwy 138. Find it on right side of the Rogue Umpqua Scenic Byway, Hwy 138. To find out more: USFS Umpqua National Forest: Apple Creek Campground.

Horseshoe Bend Campground

Drive 30 miles east from the North Umpqua Ranger Station in Glide Oregon on the Rogue Umpqua Scenic Byway, Hwy 138, Just before the 48 mile marker find Road #4750, turn right, then turn right again on #4750-001. To find out more: USFS Umpqua National Forest: Horseshoe Bend Campground.

Eagle Rock Campground

The campgrounds for both districts are off the Rogue Umpqua Scenic Byway, many are on the wild and scenic Umpqua River. All fall between the north entrance to Crater Lake National Park and I-5 at Roseburg, Oregon. Boulder Flat is the last one in the North Umpqua district. After that you're in the Diamond Lake District. Directions to campgrounds in the Little River watershed of the North Umpqua River.
