The Historic and Scenic Highway on the Columbia River Gorge in Oregon offers beauty and magnificence: waterfalls, hiking trails, the Columbia River, mountains and just great sightseeing.
Multnomah Waterfall is the most famous, but each of the others proffers individual charm: The two waterfals at Latourelle, Shepherd's Dell, Oneonta Gorge, Bridal Veil Falls, but Fairy Falls, but they have a different name ... I'm speaking from memory here. I haven't traveled extensively in northern Oregon in a while even though I used to live there. :-) Shepherd's Dell is very beautiful, and even though I have been on this road more times than I can count, I have seldom seen it when the waterfall is flowing in the waterfall. If you get there when it is, Shepherd's Dell is quite lovely, and requires no hike.
Respect the natural features of this area, stay on the trails, and leave it as much as possible as you found it.
