Fall River Waterfalls | |
We pulled off the road in one of those wide spaces to see what we could see. We knew at some point we'd see the waterfalls. After all, we'd been here before, and one of the reasons I'd wanted to come again was to come to see the waterfalls. I also hoped to hike down to them. They're down there in that gully, and the "road" you can see is this photo always seemed to me a reasonable hiking trail. Brad though the road was the old highway, and later we discovered that he was right. We also learned that the people who live in Fall River Mills, a community just a few miles up the road, thought it not feasible to hike to the waterfalls for a variety of reasons. One of them was that the area is infested with rattle snakes. Even so, I'd still like to do it. The closest view we have of them is so far away. The photo below shows the waterfalls from this wide spot in the road. The next page shows the Falls River Waterfalls from the viewpoint. You can decide which you think is the more spectacular view. :-) | |
