Cedarville in Surprise Valley, California:

Cedarville has the quaint charm of simplicity. Bound by the Warner Mountains on the west and Nevada on the east, the desert beauty fills your senses in Surprise Valley. The building to the right seems to have been a hotel in the old west. It houses a bookstore now. I can't recall what else.

We've visited Cedarville several
times and never failed to be impressed. Although one must appreciate simplicity to feel this way.

Hot springs, commercially operated at the turn of the 20th century until sometime during the depression, opened again with
modern structures: motel and RV sites. If that interests you, don't make any turns from Cedar Pass, Hwy 299. Head east
at main the intersection of town. When last visited this intersection boasted a small grocery store on the
right and an auto mechanic across the street on the left. - gm
